Bucket List Checklist Updated! –Nick Covanes (Adwebvertising)
Greetings, Katy Christian Chamber Members!
I am excited to share some really great news! I am officially ranked amongst some of you as a published author (albeit when I say published, I mean self-published and author...ha...fledgling author at best...you decided). I wouldn't normally post a personal endeavor here since it's not related to Adwebvertising, but I could really use your prayer and support.
Join me in praying for the LORD's will above all things, of course, but I would like you to pray that the book will land in the hands of someone who can really use it. Regarding support, prayer is the hugest thing, but I would also be honored for you to read it, share it with others, and tell me if it has any impact on your life.
Bet You're Wondering What the Book Is About
The book is titled "Live It: The Last Diet You'll Never Need," and as the title implies, it deals with Life and Diets. Unlike other diet books and self-help books, I share my personal journey to finding a sustainable way to build better health and maintain it. Along the way, I share my successes and challenges and dig into the science behind this amazing creation of God that each of us is! And while the book is aimed at a primarily secular audience, you can bet I didn't check my faith at the front cover!
Excerpt from the book
"I stood there, staring at the man in the mirror, and for the first time, I didn't look away. I saw the puffiness in my face, the bulge in my stomach, and the fabric stretched over my sides. I noticed how my shoulders slumped under the weight of my own body and how tired eyes looked like they'd been carrying a secret for too long. That secret was this: I had let myself go.
But I didn't hate the man in the mirror. I pitied him. I pitied the excuses he had made. I pitied the ways he had traded long-term health for short-term comfort. I pitied how he had mistaken convenience for care, routine for living, and neglect for peace. Most of all, I pitied how he had forgotten himself.
That moment wasn't about loathing or self-shame—it was about reckoning. I wasn't disgusted or angry at myself. I was sad. And in that sadness, I found something surprising: hope. If I had created this version of myself, then I could make a better one. I just had to figure out where to start."
